Llewellyn Ward Judd is a barrister at Alinea Chambers in Sydney and Hemmant’s List in Brisbane. He was recognised as a Leading Class Actions Junior Counsel in Australia in the Doyle’s Guide 2025
Llewellyn has substantial experience in class actions, acting for both applicants and respondents. His recent matters include product liability proceedings concerning motor vehicles, medical devices and agricultural products in the Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Llewellyn’s broader practice encompasses disputes involving commercial and corporate law, competition and consumer law, insolvency, succession, professional negligence, employment, land law, taxation debt recovery and personal injury. His experience includes shareholder oppression suits, professional disciplinary proceedings and contested family provision applications.
With more than fifteen years’ experience at the Bar, Llewellyn has appeared, both led and unled, in trials and applications in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and Queensland, and other courts and tribunals. He has also appeared in appeals in the New South Wales Court of Appeal and the Queensland Court of Appeal.
Llewellyn has extensive experience representing parties at mediation and in other forms of dispute resolution.
Llewellyn holds a Master of Banking and Finance Law from the University of Melbourne, a Master of Laws from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Law (Wills and Estates) from the College of Law, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and a Diploma in Law from the Legal Practitioners Admission Board.
Llewellyn was called to the New South Wales Bar in 2005 and the Queensland Bar in 2014. He is also admitted to practise in the High Court of Australia.
