Michael’s practice is very substantial and diverse. Much of his work is of a commercial or equitable nature. This includes a broad range of matters: for example, matters arising under companies law, competition law, trust law, contract law, property law, construction law, insurance law and insolvency law. He also practises administrative and public law. He appears at trials and appeals and has appeared before many different courts, including the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia, the Family Court of Australia, various State Supreme Courts and the Land & Environment Court of New South Wales. Among other jurisdictions, he has also appeared at the ICAC, including as counsel assisting, and acted for persons involved in Royal Commissions.

Michael routinely appears in high profile cases and, for years, has been recognised as one of Australia’s best lawyers in the annual survey of the legal profession conducted by Best Lawyers which is published in the Australian Financial Review.
